About PDF300

PDF300 is a free set of PDF tools made and run by LeDeuxions, a small architect-led studio in Korea.

Why it exists

Architectural work runs on PDFs: drawings, permit applications, tender documents, reports. The portals that receive them are strict — many reject a file for being a few kilobytes over a limit, and 300 KB is a limit that shows up again and again on public-sector forms. That is where the name comes from. The tools started as the small utilities we needed for that work, and we opened them up because the same problems turn up for anyone applying for a visa, a job or a school place.

How it works

Where a job can be done on your own computer, PDF300 does it there. Fourteen tools — merge, split, rotate and reorder, crop, N-up, page numbers, watermark, signature, redaction, PDF to image, image to PDF, PDF to text, image-mode compression and metadata editing — run entirely in your browser. Your file is not uploaded.

Some jobs need heavier software than a web page can run: OCR, Word/Excel/PowerPoint conversion, high-quality and target-size compression, password protection and removal, repair, and a few others. Those run on a server that we operate ourselves. Files are processed and deleted straight away. Each tool page says which kind it is, and the privacy policy explains the details.

What it costs

Browser tools are free and unlimited. Server tools are free for a few uses a day, because the machine that runs them costs money to keep on; a $0.99 day pass lifts the limit for anyone who needs more. The site also shows advertising on its guide pages. There is no sign-up and no watermark on anything you download.

The site is written in English, with tool pages also available in Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese and German, and a Korean version on our main site.

Who we are

LeDeuxions has been working since 2017. Besides PDF300 we make other small web tools and games, listed on ledeuxions.com. If something on PDF300 does not work, gives a wrong result, or could explain something better, please tell us — reports from people using the tools are how most of it gets better.
